Radar detector on my V4s

Had an Escort Max 360 that I use in the car so thought I would put it on the bike. No pics yet. I have mixed feeling about doing this as last time I used a radar detector on a bike, I ended up getting two tickets at one time on a GSXR-1000. Back in 2005. But this Duc is so fast that is is hard not to go too fast almost all the time. Got a kit that bolts onto the windscreen from legalspeeding.com and a power adapter kit from Escort. I am running power directly from the battery. Ups: Detector is easy to see and the mount is pretty clean. Downs: the small screen on the Escort is too dim to see in bright sunlight. I have a Hard detection kit on order that has a small led that mounts in the helmet and flashes when the detector is triggered. Frustrating part is that the detector has blue tooth and can connect to a smart phone and show data through an Escort app on the phone, but cannot simply connect to a headset to get the Escort audio through the headset. I also ordered a Ducati Corse screen for my bike in case I get tired of having that radar mount on my screen. Setting up the power lead was pretty easy since the battery is right behind the steering stem on this bike.

I've always had a detector on my bike and car; can't live w/o it. But I used to mount it hidden on the bike on my CBR but now I'm going to resort to mounting it in plain sight; I have to use the Redline for stealth

freaking Virginia and D.C. laws. I used direct wire on my CBR and will do the same on this; and I use the audio to auxilary onto my Sena headset.

So do you have a wire running to your headset? I have a Sena headset and could run a wire, but was trying to avoid that.

Yeah the aux wire that comes with the Sena because they choose to use the mini jack into the headset, but with the coil it's not horrible, sometimes I have it under my jacket velcro. But the good part is you can use the Sena as normal and the auxiliary will interrupt on the radar alert... So the moment the Sena cuts off my music or communication I know I'm getting an alert.

Try super-strong rubber-coated magnets. KJ magnetics. Won't mess with finish on bike and works terrific at keeping the detector clip firmly attached. I've done this setup on two Ducatis plus several other bikes. When the tanks aren't steel you have to get creative, but still possible.

Ended up installing the HARD system which has a very very bright red LED which mounts in the helmet and flashes when the detector goes off. wireless system and pretty simple to install. I found out that even though I can turn my detector off it is still bleeding power from the battery as the battery was completely dead after a few days. Now I unplug the detector!
