This should be interesting I am wondering if it will affect the EU versions no doubt it will seeing as they all use the same main components. Cheers for that Snoop...

Makes me believe now that when my wifes clutch failed on her 2018 Supersport "S" with the swaged fitting jumping outr of the actuating arm on the clutch end that it was never fitted correctly.
And not the sort of thing that woulkd be readily seen with a casual glance thankfully she had the presenceof mind as it was in 2nd to keep the bike straight whist edging to the side till it stalled.
Rather than turn the bars to clear the road running the risk of when the bike stalled low siding it and getting spat onto the road
I was only her 3rd time out on the bike (a 200k run) plus with only 6 months riding experience not that I trained her for that scenario but she did not panic nor drop the bike.

I checked my VIN (UK V4S model) Mine is due a new oil cooler, set to start being rolled out to dealers worldwide from Jan 24th 2019. I think the image of the newly designed version on the other forum, meant Ducati could not deny they recognized there was an issue with the existing one. Yep mines in for a new oil cooler looks like my 848 will be pounding the tar more than the V4 as what happens if the cooler fracures enough to spew oil all over hot pipes and a rear wheel, who is responsible Ducati as it is a defect or the rider knowingly riding with an issue that could arise?
What then are we supposed to keep riding our bikes or park them up some of us may only have one bike as to buy a V4 in any model is no cheap affair and to leave it in the shed especially now that summers here ?

My bike is in for repairs after I dropped it and has been at the dealer for over 5 weeks waiting for all the parts etc for a minor event. Just heard today that it's ready but they won't release it to me because there is a safety recall for an oil cooler replacement pan and because the bike is in the dealership they cannot release it until the recall is done. The big problem is that they don't know when the replacement part will arrive from Italy. With Christmas coming up it could be another 5 weeks. I am mightily unimpressed to say the least.

Mine has same recall on oil cooler and timing chain tensioner as well.
The part is said to be released january 25 or 29th or something like that..
My bike had oil leak and its also the dealership is in no hurry at all to fix an oil leak they claimed came from oil pan, the transmission output shaft seal, and from some other spot.
It happened right after the 1st service and i do believe the leak was related to that but what can i do? I didn't take the fairings off and look for leak.. its got 850 miles! So i am sure I'll be on the impound lot until the cooler arrives ... total B.S. if you ask me

2. Oil cooler
3. Hydralic cam tensioner re torque again
4. Clutch hose replacement
But I'm from India and mine was assembled in Thailand. Not sure what are applicable to the Italian production

Are they really replacing the clutch hoses now too? Did they do your master cylinder? Slave cylinder? They're literally replacing the whole frickin' thing if they are doing hoses now too.

I have no idea about the cylinders.
I'm a bit pissed at my dealership (although its not their fault) that my from wheel speed sensor wire came loose and I've been waiting for a month to get that part. Just when thats arrived, they are notified about the other recalls.
I live 500 kms from my dealership. So They were suggesting to wait until the first week of january to get the bike there to get everything fixed.
So maybe they are just saying clutch hoses to me.
Will check on Monday.

These are the only 2 recalls on my bike as of now. Nothing on a clutch hose as of yet; none of these showed up 2 weeks ago when I heard of the announcement.

The oil cooler output port may crack, causing an oil leak. An engine oil leak can increase the risk of a crash.

Ducati notification date to NHTSA: November 27, 2018. Ducati will notify owners, and dealers will replace the oil cooler, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin January 24, 2019. Owners may contact Ducati customer service at 1-888-391-5446.

The timing chain tensioner may loosen over time, possibly causing oil to leak from the bottom of the tensioner adjustment bolt. An oil leak can increase the risk of a crash.

Ducati notification date to NHTSA: November 30, 2018. Ducati will notify owners, and dealers will tighten the timing chain tensioner bolts, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin January 25, 2019. Owners may contact Ducati customer service at 1-888-391-5446.

Looking to purchase a V4S and wanted to know if there is a complete list of all the recalls so far on this model? If not would someone please be so kind as to post it? This way I can verify from the dealer that these have all been done before I take delivery of the machine.

That may be difficult because it depends on when/where the bike was made and assembled.

So some bikes will have recalls others will not.
I am in USA and so far i have had 4 or 5 recalls...

Oil cooler, ecu flash for the rear cylinder shut down, rear speed sensor bracket, cam tensioner bolts, and maybe another ecu flash. There are probably one or two others i don't know or forgot about

Yep mine is due for the oil cooler and tensioner recalls too. At least it is winter here so shop should be slow. Hoping this can get done quickly once the dealer has the parts.

They are installing a parts kit for that under warranty and replacing the oil cooler and performing the torquing of the cam chain tensioner bolt while it is there. Should be all done this week. I expected these kind of issues. First year bike. Still incredibly happy with it.

Safety notices

Actually, I was just advised I have four items that need attention.

(1) Replace oil cooler.
(2) Retorque the hydraulic cam chain tensioners to 50 newts. (Mine has the washers installed)
(3) Replace the clips on the line to the rear wheel speed sensor.
(4) REDUCE torque on the rear wheel hub from 25 newts to 20 newts.

And I presently have the forks ripped to bits working on improving the "front end dive under hard braking" problem.

This bike was not ready for production.
