From the official Ducati spec list, I found out that the new Panigale has the same 6 speed Transmission with Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) up/down EVO. I understand the concept of this system (shifting without the clutch), but I still have some questions about it. Do you have to be wide open throttle or certain rpm? Is it active in Sport Mode?

Thanks in advance!

Sorry for not knowing exact how it's on the v4 but I know how it works on the supersport s and it will probably be the same so this is my guesstimate. The DQS works in all modes. Gearing up it disrupt the firing of the cylinder which allows the gear to slip in place because you already have some pressure applied on the gear shifter. It works best with full throttle and acceleration but you can also shift going with a static acceleration. Gearing down you need to have the throttle off and then the system will blipp the throttle for you (very weird feeling the first times).

Can't wait for someone to review the Quick Shift system and try shifting from gears 2 to 6. Just to see how fast it is compared the 899's. Most reviews give it a passing mention and claims they haven't experienced a botched shift, but that's it.
