Cored Exhaust, Slip-ons and AFR management

Because of the exhaust covers on the V4, it seems like it would be easier to hide the post coring surgical scars compared to the 1299/959. It will be interesting to read about methodologies, experiences, after-market exhaust products and AFR management solutions going forward.

I want the increased flow of coring, but I don't want the increased noise associated with it :(

Relative to the 959/1299 single walled silencers, coring here looks like a distinctive possibility similar to the 899/1199.
You may be surprised about the low decibels as this V4 is now Euro4. My Euro4 Monster 1200R was so quiet it was embarrassing. Something had to be done.

Cored pipes aren't going to be much quieter than your aftermarket pipes, though I have heard partial core would make the pipes sound better than stock while sticking to a lower decibel. Not really my forte, so I'm just waiting for DarR to take the V4 in hand. :D

@Duckaty
A V4 in my hands won't happen this year but hopefully no more than a year away.
Coring is just a possible option, which looks more feasible than the 959/1299 but is really a last resort when there's a lack of after-market slip-ons available at reasonable prices.
I'm really looking forward to see the exhaust products from alternative manufacturers.

You guys don't think we'll see a slip on exhaust for the V4 out of Akra, Termi, MIVV or HMF? I know there isn't anything to be found as of yet, but we're still really early in the V4's lifecycle. Or are we just looking at cheaper alternatives?
The Termi is supposed to be available in April.
Denis, lets wait to see what Peter designs and installs on my soon to come V4.

I've seen and heard his custom work on the 2017 Panigale. It's both beautiful & frightening. :)

I'm sure we will see a slip-on from manufacturers other than Akrapovic and Termignoni. The operative words are "at reasonable prices". For example, SC-Project, Arrow and Austin Racing, just to name a few, make high quality products which are far less expensive than the first two.

Yep I'm already stocked with stainless bends n tube from previous builds and I have 2 slipons made ready for a 3/4 system utilising just the headers, similar lay out to AKA has to be for racing n full belly pan, once created within the next mth ill throw some pics up and a video. Fueling will be next dynojet haven't had a test bike yet but they do have a desmocidici unit? may cross over but I have another source so we shall see. I'm going to also create a 2 muffler under tail system n then see which has the best performance, nothing like customizing, my welding qualifications were well earned 30yrs ago bring on the TIG:smile_big::smile_big::smile_big:

Coring and photos

It would be interesting to view the interior of the V4's stock canister as an endeavor to generate ideas.

Oh this is exciting! Maybe start a new thread to document the process and compile all the pictures for easy access.
This is the coring thread to post and consolidate this stuff.
I'm really looking forward to seeing photos to generate coring ideas from everyone.

ok well got the big muffler off not easy, and the heat shield which means, lifting the tank to do this and the back section has to come apart too !!! Now looking in to the muffler the cats are visable as they are right at the inlets but apart from that I don't think there is much baffling. Ive created the new exhaust and it will enable a full belly pan ill post pictures shortly, so after 1000kms ive started stripping it .Had a few brain teasers as to how the switch block come off but I figured it out cunning ducati folks, still awaiting tuning software so maybe a while till its dynoed. I suppose a video will let you all hear the sound, stay tuned for more updates.

All I can say is WOW. Those look better than any offerings by the established after-market guys.
May I share this info on another forum?
