I have 2200 miles on my V4S and have noticed my chain was very dirty . I decided to clean it and check the slack on the chain as well. If anyone is looking for a great tool for chain cleaning I use the kettenmax system. Pretty easy to use and works really well. Anyway, after cleaning the chain and waxing it I checked the chain slack . The stickers on the swing arm instructs you to measure and find the center point between the front and rear sprockets which measure approx 27” so the center would be 13.5” approx. following that down to the corresponding chain link you measure down from the plastic slider above the chain to the center of the chain link . Ducati says 23-25 mm chain slack . .90-.97” . My chain measured out at 1.375” or 34mm which is very loose . I noticed the chain making some noise and slapping a bit . I will be tightening back to between factory specs and report back . I have been noticing a “choppy throttle and I’m pretty sure it’s because the chain has stretched out. Will report back soon .
