Electric Motorcycles & Scooters

Edouard Lotthe, managing director of Ducati Western Europe during an interview at EICMA 2017 in Milan earlier this month announced Ducati's plans to go electric. He also stated that the plans would only happen after 2020. That makes sense to me, a lot of car and bike companies are preparing for the upcoming electronic era. Ducati as a part of Volkswagen group, may consider to launch their new electric motorcycle at the time as VW will launch thier EV.

I can't wait to see what Ducati and other big companies will present in 2020.

Problem with going electric is just how heavy the battery pack plus motor will be. Then there's the problem of distance because the pack is so much smaller than a car's. It would be nice to have an electric adventure tourer from Ducati in the future, but for now it's a pipe dream.

Agree. I also think that electric motorcycle will weight a lot. When you drive an EV car you can feel how heavy it's on the turns, so I have no idea what will Ducati do to save the battery life and don't overweight it.
