Honda to release rival to V4

The rumour mill is currently buzzing with reports that Honda will replace the Fireblade in 2019 with a V4, to compete directly with the new Panigale. The new configuration is expected to increase the Fireblades output from 189hp to just over 200hp. Honda already has the RC213V-S with 212hp but that will run you a small sum of $244k.

I would seriously consider the Honda, but as of now there is no Honda V4 and there IS a Ducati V4. I hope the rumors are true, but Honda seems to be on the back foot a bit lately. They are doing OK in Moto GP but not in World Superbike and their return to F1 was a disaster. Anyway, the V4 is just a rumor until is isn't.

I'll be interested once we get a confirmation on this from Honda. Thought even if this is true, it'll probably be a matter of years before it hits the market. Though a V4 branded with the Honda nameplate is enticing.

It looks like there is a rendering of what the new Fireblade could look like, that was featured on a Young Machine magazine. Of course it wont be a CBR1000RR but more likely a VFR1000RR. Its certainly looking the part.

I mean we know what the outgoing Fireblade looks like, and its good to see that the 2019 model is getting a sleek redesign. The reports also suggest that Honda will be going with a cast-aluminum semi monocoque chassis, similar to the Panigale.

Its about time that Honda is making this move, being a brand so rich in racing an developing sporty bikes that people actually like, it made me wonder after seeing bikes high up the scale like the Ninja H2 pass us by. Then of course the V4 we're talking about. Although there is the RCV, its not often you hear people talking about it... is price tag is to thank for that.
