V4 for the WorldSBK 2018?

Rumor has it that Ducati may be in early testing of the new V4 with the plans to unleash it at this years Superbike World Championship. Although its unsure as of yet whether the bike will be ready by then, it's not surprising that they're trying to utilize it as quickly as possible. It does seem to be quite a step up from what their currently using.

But that has to be the 1000cc machine they are testing. The current V4 is to big for the superbike rules.
It would fit the plans but you will probably not to be able to get your hands on one until 2019.

Yeah I don't think we'll see anything out of the V4 this year. Ducati is probably just a little eager to see how well their new flagship performs on the track. I don't think they'll have the time to get everything ready and tested for this years SBK but I'm sure we'll see a new top tier rival next year.
