First service ...

Anyone know whatís involved besides an oil and filter change at the 500 mile service ? I was going to just do the oil change my self . I donít want to pay the dealer $$$ for a glorified oil change .

There are a couple of recalls and ecu update that you may require but of course you could still do your own oil and filter change and ask them to just do the warranty updates.

IMO, it is important to take it in for the first service, as ECU flash is normally done, in special on a first-year production bike. Also, all main core screws are checked to ensure proper fitment.
And as mentioned, there will be a recall on the fuel cap/breather, so take advantage of that and have it done at the same time. It is worth it spending about 300 USD for the first service.

With regular oil changes I wouldn't bother going to the dealer either, but there are a good number of reasons to take it in for the first one, as have been indicated above. Might as well get everything adjusted/repaired at the same time.

Glad to see someone bring this up because i had friends that worked on the service end of the business that suggested the same thing. It goes for both bikes, cars, you name it. Its especially true on entirely new products hence why some people even avoid them in the first place.

Question:

What are "core screws". I have never heard that term before.

Just an expression of mine for the main screws holding the frame, tank and other main parts of the vehicle.

Hello all.

4 recall on the V4, in special the first ones out in March 2018.

1- Fuel Leak
2- Fuel Spray
3- 2 cylinder shut down (computer flash)
4- side stand defect

Today I received a call from my dealer and was advised of the above, even though my bike does deactivate cylinders when I am stopped and clutch engaged, at least I feel the vibration difference and noise.

Cheers

This is on top of the previous recalls that were issued? I suppose its better that Ducati is looking to address these things before they become problems.

Its in Ducati's best interest to address these issues before they spread like wildfire. I have seen information hinting towards them wanting to expand into higher volume products.
